SAFETY - Before anything

Ensure everyone is respirator fit tested & have the appropriate size

Ensure the working area is in an acceptable level of tidiness

Minimize tripping hazard, spill hazard, sharp angles/Materials (composite materials are really sharp after they cure)

Fill out FLRA and ensure all personal participating the work is aware of the hazard

Below illustrate the minimum PPE requirement, please also refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for the appropriate PPE

Minimum PPE Requirement - Mold Release & Bondo work: respirator with OV + P95 cartridges, Lab coat, safety glass, nitrate gloves

Minimum PPE Requirement - Epoxy work: respirator with OV + P95 cartridges, safety glass, Lab coat, nitrate gloves

Minimum PPE Requirement - Cutting & Sanding work: respirator with OV + P100 cartridges, safety goggles, Face Shield (Cutting), Coveralls, nitrate gloves

1. Prep the aluminium mandrel

Apply bondo to uneven spot and wait 30 minutes before sanding the aluminum mandrel to 400 grid.

Mold Release:

Option 1: Spray/ liquid mold release

Apply approximately 5 layers of mold release, wait 15(spray) / 30(liquid) minutes, then apply another layer.

Advantage: accurate inner diameter. Disadvantage: Will require a mandrel puller to remove from the mandrel
